Maoists using Telangana agitation in OU to recruit!!

Maoists are trying to take over the ongoing stir by students and activists at the Osmania University for a separate Telangana state. Several Maoist fellow travellers have visited and pitched camp on the campus in the few days trying to exploit the volatile situation there to spread their radical ideas, worrying the police to no end.
The OU vice-chancellor, Prof. Tirupati Rao, said “outsiders” were in control of the campus and the situation might spin out of control. “Our own students told me that outsiders have taken over the campus and are staying in the hostels,” he said. “Maoists can enter the campus and create trouble. We have to evacuate the campus immediately.”
K. Ramulu, a former radical and brother of Maoist leader Sambasivudu, Vimala, a member of the Jana Natya Mandali, a cultural organisation supporting Maoists, and Prakash, a former member of the Radical Students Union, had visited the agitation site and interacted with students. Balladeer Gaddar, a popular Maoist sympathiser, had expressed solidarity with the agitation from the first day.
Though the students are agitating for a separate Telangana, the Maoist sympathisers are speaking to them about the killings during Operation Green Hunt, the alleged fake encounters, the problems created by SEZs and the need for “revolt”.
“We have to lay down our lives for our cause,” said one speaker. “Police has been silencing the voices of the deprived people with guns. Revolt is the only solution.” Hyderabad city police commissioner, Mr B. Prasada Rao, said, “We know that a few people are coming to the varsity and talking to students,” he said. “There is a possibility of a few being Maoist sympathisers.”
