Novel protests to grab urban attention!!!

After a month long agitation, Osmania University campuslooks like a 'Telangana carnival' centre with painting expo, songs, posters, cultural events, and novel protests demanding a separate state taking place on the campus. From dressing up as saints blessing Police officials on campus to a student dressing up like CM Rosaiah whom otherstudents beg for Telangana, Osmania University wears a festival look with lot of Telangana entertainment in store for visitors.

OU students put up Aamir Khan's latest release '3 IDIOTS' poster with Central Ministers P Chidambaram, Veerappa Moily and Pranab Mukherjee in it. There are posters on why the demand for Telangana state came up and theproblems of the people with statistical data, another one potraying Rosaiah, Chandrababu and other leaders from Andhra region as each head of Ravana. Posters of students who committed suicide demanding separate Telangana state have come up on the campus which have become a great hit with Telangana sympathisers who are visiting the campus to express their solidarity to students.

Telangana students association has even hired a van which plays songs and distributes pamphlets all over the campus and surrounding areas. Student union leaders said that these are attempts to create awareness among urban youngsters who are not very actively participating in Telangana agitation in OU. "We have support of students from rural areas. The posters, novel way of protesting et al are to create awareness among youngsters from Hyderabad and other metros in the region. We want to reach out to them and make them understand why we feel so much for this cause of separate statehood. Our real aim is to create similar movement in intermediate and engineering colleges in the city" says Krishank, OU JAC member.

OU Students have also started 'Pandi'(pig) awards on the lines of annual Nandi awards given by state government to best actors in the film industry.Pandi awards were declared to Chandrababu for best cheater category, Chiranjeevi for best U-turn and Rosaiah for best audience of the region category. That apart, Telangana literature is being sold on the campus and new blogs and web sites are also being launched every day by different organisations to create garner support for the T-cause.
