Divided OU students plan separate yatras !!!

Differences became rife among students agitating for separate state in Osmania University students. Two different groups among the Osmania University students on Tuesday , decided to go on a 'pada yatra' touring all the ten districts in Telangana region to spread the awareness among people. OU students who were agitating for the separate state and were operating as ' OU Joint action committee' has split into several groups ever since the all party talks were held at New Delhi with Home minister P Chidambaram.
There are currently at least four different student groups taking up programmes independently without joining hands with other groups. One such group of students is taking up a padayatra from Osmania Universityto Bhadrachalam in Khammam district starting this Wednesday. This yatra will start from OU Arts college. All the students who were on indefinite hunger strike in the last few days will participate in the yatra. The participants in this yatra said that ' OU JAC ' is non existent now since there are a lot of differences amongst them and that they are going on a yatra to keep the movement alive.
"Relay hunger strikes on OU campus won't make any impact. We are therefore going on a 360 kilometre padayatra for 12 days in the region. We will bring awareness on the need for a separate state and the demand for a bill in the Parliament immediately" said Manavat Rai, NSUI leader who will take part in this yatra . Another group of students who continue to operate with 'OU JAC ' tag have declared that they will start a 'Maha Padayatra' starting January 18, along with students from Kakatiya, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi university and Shatavahana University in the region.
This self proclaimed OU JAC group rubbishes the allegations of the other groups and said that they will continue to operate with the same name and fight for separate state." All the allegations made on OU JAC are false and baseless. This is an attempt to dilute the movement. We are happy that they are also taking out an yatra. Our organisation exists and our mission is to ensure the elected representatives of local bodies also submit their resignations to their posts demanding a separate statehood. "said Krishank, member of OU JAC.
Another student group ABVP has already distanced itself from OU JAC and declared that they will agitate for a separate state independantly. The student union has organised for a huge meeting at Nizam grounds and invited BJP leader Sushma Swaraj for the meeting, the agenda of which is to demand a quick formation of separate state.
