EFLU VC says he is being 'targetted' by his staff !!

Vice-chancellor of English and Foreign languages University (EFLU) Prof Abhay Maurya alleged that a 'coterie' in the Russian department of the University is running a vilification against him and is reportedly turned the residence of one of the members of the coterie a 'den of regular orgies with a liberal splurge of wine, women and wealth'.

The vice-chancellor while adressing the media at a press conference held on the university campus on future plans of EFLU, made these startling allegations against a 'coterie' in the Russian department of the varsity which he alleged is running a 'smear campaign' against him. However, he didn't disclose who in the Russian department was he referring to. He alleged that the coterie which tried its level best to prevent him from becoming the vice-chancellor also approached a few TV channels to propose a sting operation against him, and also use a woman from schedule caste to book an case against him under the SC/ST attrocities act.
Mr Maurya turned emotional while making the allegations and said that the members of this coterie were even found stealing furniture from the campus and committed fraud and forgery which is currently being investigated on by the executive council of EFLU.
"A coterie in the field of Russian has been having a complete stronghold and it had been victimizing all those who dared to challenge it. In the recent past, they have intensified their campaign against me taking it to hysterical proportions. From sending anonymous complaints against me to the President of India, Minister and other authorities of Ministry of Human resource development to approaching anti corruption bureau for launching a probe against me, they are doing everything to tarnish my image and intimidate me. By using political elements in Osmania University, they even filed a PIL in the High court to get the construction work of the new hostels stopped on our campus" alleged Abhay Maurya.
"The members of the same coterie tried preventing me from attending aseminar at EFLU 25 years ago by sending a fake telegram saying the seminar had been cancelled. They tried their level best to ensure I don't become the vice-chancellor of this university " he added. The vice-chancellor even released a three page notes with allegationson the coterie and said that he has decided to come out in open on the coterie now as their vilification campaign against him has reached'hysterical proportions'.
Maurya claimed that in the recent past, the coterie has intensified the campaign to malign his image to ensure he doesn't get any extension after his retirement from the post of vice-chancellor."
My detractors think that according to the initial appointment, my terms would end on 15th June 2010. They are doing everything possible to ensure I don't get an extension for my term. But they don't realise that the age of retirement of the VC has been raised from 65 years to 70 years through the amendment of statures with the approval of the President of India according to which my term ends on 2nd August,2012" he claimed.
